Dear Potential New Members,

Thank you for your interest in Phi Sigma Rho — I am extremely excited to welcome you to begin your journey with us!

Phi Sigma Rho is a social sorority for engineering and hard science majors. It is a place where women can find long-lasting friendships, scholarship support, endless encouragement, and empowerment. Our community is dedicated to providing a space where our sisters can grow to their full potential as both students on campus and citizens beyond UCLA. Among us, you will find the brightest scientists and engineers, the most compassionate of friends, passionate leaders, and so much more.

Like many women in STEM, I often find myself overwhelmed by the challenge of balancing the academic rigor of my courses and the innately social nature of college. However, through Phi Rho I always have a source of support, my sisters. My fellow Phi Rhos are there through the late study nights and stressful deadlines and right beside me for the spontaneous hangouts and adventures all over the world. Phi Rho has introduced me to lifelong friendships and has provided me with a home away from home at UCLA.

Additionally, aside from being the Nu Chapter of the national Phi Sigma Rho organization, we are also an associate member of the Panhellenic Council here at UCLA! As members of the Greek community, we proudly uphold the values of academics, campus involvement, leadership, philanthropy, and sisterhood. However, because of our chapter's major eligibility requirement, we do not participate in Formal Recruitment and instead hold our own recruitment processes in the fall and winter quarters. Please feel free to browse through our website and reach out to me if you have any questions at all!

Ultimately, Phi Rho is a corner of UCLA where a diverse group of passionate women can gather and inspire one another, and that is why it has provided me with so many lessons and endless memories. I hope our recruitment events can help you explore all that it has to offer you as well! We simply cannot wait to meet you!

With the utmost Phi Rho Love,

 Emily Dembinski
