Dear Potential New Members,

Thank you for your interest in Phi Sigma Rho — I am extremely excited to welcome you to begin your journey with us!

As a social sorority for engineering and hard science majors, Phi Sigma Rho represents an organization, amongst the many at UCLA, where women can find a long-lasting friendship, support for scholarship, endless encouragement, and women's empowerment. Our community provides a safe place where you can grow to your full potential even beyond the hills of Westwood — our sisters are among the brightest scientists, the wittiest of friends, the most passionate leaders, and simply the most selfless individuals.

Like many women in STEM, I have found myself overwhelmed by the challenge of balancing competitive academics and enjoying the college experience. However, since joining Phi Rho in my sophomore year, I know that my sisters are always there to support me through the late study nights, stressful research deadlines, countless girls nights, spontaneous adventures, and everything else in between.  Phi Rho has allowed me to find my closest friends, my study buddies, my day ones, and at the end of the day, a home away from home.

Additionally, aside from being the Nu Chapter of the national Phi Sigma Rho organization, we are also an associate member of the Panhellenic Council here at UCLA! As members of the Greek community, we proudly uphold the values of academics, campus involvement, leadership, philanthropy, and sisterhood. However, because of our chapter's major eligibility requirement, we do not participate in Formal Recruitment and instead hold our own recruitment processes in the fall and winter quarters. Please feel free to browse through our website and reach out to me if you have any questions at all!

Ultimately, Phi Rho is a corner of UCLA where a diverse group of passionate women can gather and inspire one another, and that is why it has provided me with so many lessons and endless memories. I hope our recruitment events can help you explore all that it has to offer you as well! We simply cannot wait to meet you!

With the utmost Phi Rho Love,

Emily Dembinski
