about us
Phi Sigma Rho is a national social sorority for women in the engineering and science fields. Our Nu chapter was founded in 2003 by Christina Yang in her determination to fulfill the need for a social sorority that could foster and maintain the bonds of sisterhood in light of the challenges of a science-based major.

The three ideals upon which our organization was founded are friendship, scholarship, and encouragement, and we still strive to keep these first and foremost as we continue to grow. As an associate member of the Panhellenic Council at UCLA, we participate in many of the Greek-related activities on campus as well as external events and volunteer projects.

We also place much value in our internal activities, which pave the way for bonding within the diverse group of girls that make up our active body. As of date, we have 43 members – quadruple of what we had less than a decade ago but still a number that places us amongst the smaller sororities on campus. However, our modest numbers are conducive to a strong sense of community yet are still able to accommodate a great diversity of individuals. While the typical college experience lasts four years, the friendship and memories created within Phi Rho will be a part of us forever.
