About Me:
I'm Christina and I am the founder of the UCLA chapter of Phi Sigma Rho.

The Alpha Class and I founded Phi Sigma Rho in 2003, and I am very proud of how the sorority has grown!

A little about me:

I was born in Milwaukee, WI, and lived there for my entire childhood, before moving to California to go to UCLA.

I LOVE to travel. I frequently take weekend trips off somewhere random. And I am not afraid to see the world alone; I have traveled solo to 7 countries, sleeping in hostels, living out of a backpack, and taking strange local buses with chickens in them through tunnels which are just holes through mountains.
Aside from that, I love trying and learning new things. My current fanaticisms are scuba diving and surfing. I can ride a motorcycle, and I like to be active. I also love reading books and magazines and inhale about 3 per month. Of course, I have tons of clothes and own over 70 pairs of shoes!

I am currently pursuing my career as an SAP consultant with IBM Global Business Services. Previously, I was a systems engineer for LinQuest Corporation, which specializes in satellite communications. And I have had many previous jobs, including: plasma physics research, paralegal, film marketing assistant, biotech FDA validation, radar communications, managing a video store, and waitressing. If there's something out there, I've probably done it!

In 2003, I was televised for Red Bull Flugtag, in which our sorority recreated a giant version of our mascot, Sigmand the Penguin, and I broke my ankle, needing two plates, eight screws, and two surgeries to repair it.

I was also the National Vice President of Expansion for the 10th National Council of Phi Sigma Rho. And I continue to be involved with UCLA as an elected governing board member of the Engineering Alumni Association, and as an advisory alumni of SWE.

It's my hope that Phi Sigma Rho will bring women in engineering and the sciences together as colleagues as well as sisters, that we can exemplify the value of well-rounded women in these fields, and that we can outreach to younger girls and encourage them to enter these fields.

Much Phi Rho love, and if you are interested in becoming a sister of Phi Sigma Rho, I hope you love the sorority as much as I do!

Christina
